In the following years he established himself as one of the key players in techno music, releasing vinyl on labels like Bush, Planet of Drums, Frisbee Tracks, Utils and Spiel-Zeug, making him an underground legend in the German techno scene. His breakthrough came with the track "Flash", that was recognized by the remains of the band "Queens" themselves and afterwards was promoted as an official remix. He hit Top 20 charts across Europe, marking 15th position in the UK and 17th in Germany. His reputation as a DJ grew constantly, making him play all over the world and getting world wide reputation. In recent times he co-founded the Sportclub label focussed on a rather minimalistic style of techno. After moving to Berlin and getting new inspiration from the electronica capitol of the world he is heading towards new horizons. Recently he joining Berlin based label Highgrade where he releases and he also produces Techno-heavyweights like Monica Kruse and Tom Clark. deutsch | Es gibt nicht viele Elektronikaktivisten die seit mehr als 15 Jahren dabei sind und auch heute noch neue Trends setzen. Asem Shama ist einer davon. Seit beginn der 90er Jahre kann man Asem zu den Pionieren der Elektronischen Musik in Deutschland zählen. Seine musikalischen Wurzeln liegen im Hip Hop, in den 80ern ist er als Rapper bekannt und in dieser Zeit startet er auch seine ersten Gehversuche in Sachen Electronic Beats im Studio eines Freundes. Dort findet er sein neues kreatives Zuhause und beginnt seine Visionen umzusetzen. In den folgenden Jahren etabliert sich Asem mit Releases auf Labels wie Bush, Planet of Drums, Frisbee Tracks, Utils, Spiel-Zeug und seinem eigenen Imprint Ghostline als Schlüsselfigur des deutschen Technountergrunds. Der endgültige Durchbruch kommt mit dem Vanguard Remake von "Flash" das von den übrig gebliebenen "Queen" Membern anerkannt und dann als offizieller Remix promoted wird. Darauf geht's in die Charts und "Flash" erreicht Platz 17 in Deutschland und 15 in England. Trotz des Major Buiseness konzentriert sich Asem weiter darauf, seinen tiefen und empathischen Produktions- und Mixstil zu schärfen. Im November 2005 gründet er mit Axel das Label Sportclub und dringt in minimalistischere Sphären vor. Der Umzug in die Technohauptstadt Berlin 2008 bringt frische Inspiration und eröffnet neue Horizonte. Es kommt zum Kontakt zu "Highgrade", wo er fortan veröffentlicht.
